Justin Hurwitz graduated from Harvard University in 2008, where he studied music composition and orchestration. He has composed the music for all of Damien Chazelle’s films including WHIPLASH, LA LA LAND, and FIRST MAN, and BABYLON, earning two Academy Awards, four Golden Globes, three Critics’ Choice Awards, two Grammys, and a BAFTA. Justin is currently working on Chazelle’s upcoming prison drama, to be released in 2027, as well as a stage musical adaptation of LA LA LAND. He lives in Los Angeles.

Greyson Nekrutman is a highly versatile, dynamic 24-year old drummer from Long Island, NY who has captivated a global audience with his explosive talent and tireless work ethic. First gaining recognition for his viral big band transcriptions, Greyson rapidly transitioned into a high-profile professional career performing and recording with artists such as William DuVall (Alice in Chains), DJ Premier, Billy Howerdel (Perfect Circle) before setting out on major world tours with hardcore/punk band Suicidal Tendency and currently holding down the drum throne for the heavy metal giants Sepultura. Demonstrating his remarkable musical range, Greyson is thrilled to channel his distinctive energy and precision as the featured live guest drummer for "Whiplash in Concert," executing the film's high octane score under the direction of its Academy Award-winning composer and conductor, Justin Hurwitz.

This extraordinary cinematic and live music experience brings the intensity of the Academy Award®-winning film Whiplash to life with a live 18-piece big band jazz ensemble and 24-year-old drumming phenom Greyson Nekrutman conducted by the film's Oscar®-winning composer, Justin Hurwitz.
