Justin Hurwitz graduated from Harvard University in 2008, where he studied music composition and orchestration. He has composed the music for all of Damien Chazelle’s films including WHIPLASH, LA LA LAND, and FIRST MAN, and BABYLON, earning two Academy Awards, four Golden Globes, three Critics’ Choice Awards, two Grammys, and a BAFTA. Justin is currently working on Chazelle’s upcoming prison drama, to be released in 2027, as well as a stage musical adaptation of LA LA LAND. He lives in Los Angeles.
